They say that it’s my birthday.
I’m sitting here amazed.
The fact that it came ‘round again
leaves me feeling dazed.
The years all seem to flutter by
like eager hungry birds.
I try my best to capture them
with a flock of words.
But in the end the truth is out,
elusiveness of time.
Better just to savor it,
not capture it in rhyme.
