The second day of winter,
we’ve seen the longest night.
Mother Nature’s powder puff
has coated us in white.
We gather ‘round a fir tree,
deck the halls with holly,
cuddle under mistletoe
in an effort to be jolly.
We’re entering the winter
which could inspire dread.
Thanks to Christmas evergreens
we dream of spring instead.
