gathered ‘round the tree,
eggnog and mistletoe
with the family.
But a storm is raging.
They’re stranded at the mall.
Grandpa’s at the airport.
We’re waiting for a call.
Christmas Eve still waiting.
No one has appeared.
Hoping to see grandpa
