ABSTRACTION

I look at the earth,
the trees and the sky.
I listen to birds
as they fly by.

I ponder the magical
beauty of earth.
Again I acknowledge
its consummate worth.

The outstanding feature
of this observation
is that I’m capable
of contemplation.
